From Dad-bod to Ripped: How Nirav Transformed at 40

Towards the end of 2023, Nirav found himself in a familiar but frustrating place. He had spent the past 10 years chasing the elusive 6-pack dream without success. 

In fact, in those 10 years things didn’t just stay the same. They got worse. 

Rather than losing fat, getting fitter, and taking steps toward his goal – Nirav was getting further and further away from it. 

Finding himself looking more like all the other dads in their 40s… out of shape and past their best. 

The highest weight of his life stared back at him from the scale, and the dream of a lean, strong body felt farther away than ever. 

For Nirav, it wasn’t just about aesthetics, it was about reclaiming a sense of control and confidence that had slipped away over time. He had almost given up on the dream entirely. 

But then, fate (and Instagram) intervened. A post by his friend Puja caught his eye. She’d achieved incredible results through KMAK Fitness. 

Inspired, Nirav decided to give it one last shot. 

This time, he wasn’t chasing an impossible dream. He was stepping into a new mindset: Anything is possible.

Nirav’s Transformation

 

Setting the Plan: The Simple but Powerful Formula 

When Nirav signed up for KMAK Fitness, we didn’t sugarcoat things. We made it clear this transformation wasn’t going to be easy. There would be days he didn’t want to train…

Days when a simple 30 minutes of cardio felt like a lifetime…

And peer pressure at social occasions with people telling him to put his healthy diet to one side, have a day off, and overindulge.  

But Nirav was so determined to transform, and ready for the challenges, he knew whatever we threw his way, his transformation WAS going to be a roaring success.

Nirav’s goals: to drop 25 pounds of fat, feel younger and more athletic, and finally get into the best shape of his life despite being 40 years old. Which for most men, is when they feel like they’re declining. 

But we weren’t about to let that happen. 

With three workouts per week, a daily macro target to follow, and a goal of 10,000 steps a day, the plan was simple. 

But that doesn’t mean it was easy.

Because Nirav was about to face his biggest transformation challenge yet – a three-month trip around the world. 

Which for most people would either mean pausing and putting their goals on hold, or trying to navigate the travel, whilst still maintaining their transformation, but failing miserably. 

But not Nirav. With our help, we mapped out a strategy to stay on track, even while traveling to 8 countries and over 30 cities.

Instead of being rigid with his workouts, we gave him easy alternatives to do in under-equipped hotel gyms or even just home training.

Rather than having an unrealistic diet plan, we built a flexible nutrition strategy that allowed him to enjoy local foods while staying on track with his goals.

Traveling the World and Staying on Track 

The plan wasn’t about restriction. Nirav wasn’t going to sacrifice his travel experience for the sake of his fitness goals.

Instead, his coach helped him find a balance – one where he could enjoy the food, culture, and sights of every city, while still making progress.

Armed with his customized plan, a trusty travel bodyweight scale, and a relentless mindset, Nirav embarked on his journey. He found gyms in every city he visited.

Some days were great; crushing his workouts and hit his macro targets with ease. Other days were tough with fatigue, unfamiliar routines, and the lure of indulgent foods tested his resolve.

But no matter what, Nirav stayed consistent and accountable.

“I learned so much about myself during those months. I stayed true to the process, even when it was difficult, and that taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to.”

Instead of looking at his travel as an obstacle, we viewed it as a way to enjoy getting his steps in, sampling different foods to keep things fun, and staying busy so he wasn’t tempted to stray off plan through boredom. 

In other words, we embraced his 3-month expedition as part of the journey – not something that would derail him, but something that could elevate his experience. 

Every walk through a new city became an opportunity to hit his step goal. 

Every meal became a chance to practice balance and flexibility. 

And every workout was proof that consistency can happen anywhere. 

What seemed like an impossible challenge at the start? It turned into his greatest advantage.

The Results: 6.5 Months, 25 Pounds Lost, and a New Beginning 

When Nirav returned home after his trip, the results were undeniable. 

  • 25 pounds of fat down, just as we’d set out to do

  • No more stubborn belly fat, moobs, or love handles, but a lean, healthy phhsique that wouldn’t look out of place in a fitness magazine

  • Feeling the best he’s felt in years rather than feeling like he was over the hill and tumbling down the other side, heading for middle-age 

But whilst he looked phenomenal, this transformation was more than physical. Nirav rediscovered something even more important – his confidence and belief in himself.

He broke down limiting beliefs about his ability to lose fat, stay discplined regardless of his traveling, and realized he WAS a role model for his family.   

He wasn’t just proud of how he looked; he was proud of what he’d accomplished. 

The years of frustration were behind him. For the first time in a decade, he felt in control, powerful, and unstoppable.

Lessons Learned: Mindset is Everything 

Nirav’s journey wasn’t just about workouts and macros – it was about reclaiming his mindset and shifting his perspective on what’s possible. 

“I’ve learned that success comes from consistency, not perfection,” Nirav reflected. “There were plenty of days where I wasn’t perfect, but I stayed accountable and kept showing up. 

That made all the difference.” The experience changed his approach to life. He discovered the power of resilience and adaptability. He stopped seeing obstacles as roadblocks and started viewing them as opportunities to grow.

A New Standard for Life 

Today, Nirav continues to build on his success. 

His physical transformation is just the beginning. He’s no longer chasing short-term goals or temporary fixes – he’s living a sustainable lifestyle that allows him to feel his best, day in and day out. 

For Nirav, the biggest win wasn’t just losing 25 pounds. It was proving to himself that he was capable of anything. 

He’s now the healthiest, strongest, and most confident version of himself at 40. And, perhaps best of all, he’s learned that there are no limits – only possibilities.
